Christine Wong, the former Head of International Compliance at a global company, and a former federal prosecutor, focuses her practice on investigations, white collar criminal defense and cross-border compliance matters.

As a member of the firm’s Investigations + White Collar Defense practice, Ms. Wong utilizes her unique background as an internal advisor and a federal prosecutor to anticipate roadblocks, devise strategies, and confidently advise her clients through complex and often bet-the-company situations. Ms. Wong has extensive experience overseeing investigations and cross-border compliance matters with a focus on anti-bribery and corruption, antitrust, competition and export control.

Before joining Morrison & Foerster, Ms. Wong led the development and implementation of the global compliance program for a Fortune 500 multinational corporation, where she served as Vice President, Head of International Compliance. In that capacity, Ms. Wong conducted risk assessments at dozens of entities, which resulted in enacting necessary amendments to business workflows and policies. Ms. Wong was responsible for managing investigations and related litigation, reviewing policies and procedures, developing and delivering training modules, and ultimately reporting to the board of directors.

Prior to her time as Vice President, Head of International Compliance, she was a federal prosecutor for the Southern District of New York and the Northern District of California, where she focused on investigating and prosecuting public corruption and criminal enterprises with an established hierarchy and command structure.  Ms. Wong briefed criminal appeals before the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.

Ms. Wong is proficient in both Mandarin and Cantonese.  She earned her J.D. from Columbia University School of Law and her B.A. from Stanford University. She is admitted to practice in California and New York.
