Daphne Higgs is a partner in the Palo Alto office of Morrison Foerster and a member of the firm’s Technology Transactions Group.
Daphne advises clients on complex technology transactions with an emphasis on artificial intelligence, machine learning, open source, consumer products, eXtended reality, entertainment, cloud offerings, drones, and transfers of technologies from universities.
She also provides strategic intellectual property, privacy, and data security advice with respect to M&A, venture capital, and private equity transactions. By leveraging her background in pure mathematics and corporate law, Daphne brings a valuable business and quantitative perspective to her transactional practice.
In addition, Daphne has extensive experience with standalone intellectual property matters, including cross-border strategic alliances and joint ventures, collaborations and co-development arrangements, post-acquisition product/service integrations and product/service launches, patent and technology licensing, technology transfer, distribution, OEM, reseller agreements, and outsourcing.
Daphne actively participates in the community by serving on the advisory boards of Lost Women of Science Initiative, Nest Payroll, and Palo Alto BIPOC.
Prior to joining Morrison & Foerster, Daphne was a partner at another international law firm, where she held multiple leadership roles, including managing partner of the Palo Alto office, co-chair of the firm’s Women of Color group, member of the firm’s Partner Compensation Committee, and chair of the Hiring Committee.Show More
