Mr. Yang is a member of the Intellectual Property Practice Group, resident in the Los Angeles office. His practice focuses on patents, including patent litigation, reexamination/post-grant practice, supervision of prosecution, as well as leading due diligence of patent assets. He also has experience working abroad at various locations throughout Asia, as well as managing complex patent litigation matters in China.
Mr. Yang has served as leading technical attorney in numerous patent litigation matters (in the U.S. and in China) and is experienced with various kinds of technology, including semiconductor processing, IC design, display and graphics technology, wireless communications, location-based systems and applications (including GPS), video and audio processing, encryption, UAVs and autonomous driving systems, and consumer electronics generally.
Mr. Yang was a judicial extern to the Honorable Gladys Kessler of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia, and later to the Honorable Pauline Newman of the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
Aside from his patent practice, Mr. Yang has lectured at local high schools on the prevention of domestic violence and abusive relationships. He has received recognition from the California Public Counsel Law Center for his contribution of free legal services to foster children, and is a repeat recipient of the Wiley W. Manuel Award from the State Bar of California in recognition of his voluntary legal services to the local community.
Mr. Yang is admitted to practice in California and is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Mr. Yang is fluent in Mandarin Chinese.

Currently represents Verizon Wireless in defending against a patent infringement action directed to telephone network technology. Representation includes preparation and filing of reexamination requests.
