Dongyin Su conducts patent and non-patent literature searches for patentability, freedom to operate, invalidity, landscape, and due diligence analysis. She has a research background in biochemistry and plant biology.
Prior to joining Morrison & Foerster, Dongyin was a research assistant working on the characterization of novel protein kinases in plant stress response and the nitrate reductase regulations during a pathogen infection. She has experience analyzing RNAi regulation in response to DNA damages and heat stress. Dongyin was also a teaching assistant for biochemistry and genetics classes.
During her Ph.D., Dongyin synthetized, and purified, custom short peptides to then test their ability to deliver protein into cells through co-incubation. She also produced and screened a library of yeast knockout strains for the effect of rDNA position on expression levels.
She received her Ph.D. in biochemistry and biophysics from Texas A&M University and her B.S. in life sciences from the Xiamen University, China.
