Elizabeth Balassone is a senior litigation associate in Morrison & Foerster’s San Francisco office. Her practice focuses on complex civil litigation, with an emphasis on the defense of class actions involving breach of contract, unfair competition, privacy laws, business torts, and lending and securities laws. Ms. Balassone has experience at both the district court and appellate levels.

Ms. Balassone is recommended by Legal 500 2018 in the area of Dispute Resolution: Financial Services: Litigation and in 2016, she received the State Bar of California CYLA’s Jack Berman Award of Achievement in recognition of her pro bono work upholding the civil rights of immigrants and people with disabilities. In 2018, she was a member of the litigation teams honored with Justice in Aging’s Justice Award and the American Immigration Council’s American Heritage Awards.

Ms. Balassone graduated from Stanford Law School, where she was managing editor of the Stanford Law & Policy Review. During law school, she externed for the Organized Crime and Drug Enforcement Task Force of the United States Attorney’s Office in San Francisco. Prior to law school, she worked for Court Appointed Special Advocates and interned for Judge Katherine Lucero of Santa Clara County.

Ms. Balassone received her B.A. degree from Brown University with a double major in psychology and sociology. She was captain of the Varsity Women’s Water Polo team and a Division I All-American (Honorable Mention) and Academic All-American.
