Emiko Kurotsu is an associate in the Corporate Department of Morrison & Foerster’s Palo Alto office.

Ms. Kurotsu’s practice focuses on corporate, securities and investment transactions. She represents private equity sponsors and institutional investors in connection with the formation of, and investments in, a variety of private funds and alternative investment vehicles. In addition, Ms. Kurotsu advises issuers, underwriters, and sponsors on equity and debt offerings and works with companies on mergers and acquisitions and general corporate matters across a range of industries, including financial services, FinTech, social impact, technology, retail, real estate and healthcare.

Prior to joining Morrison & Foerster, Ms. Kurotsu was a legal and regulatory attorney at BlackRock, and prior to that, was a corporate associate at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP. Prior to her legal career, she was a funds analyst at Morningstar, Inc. in Chicago and London covering mutual funds and ETFs.

Ms. Kurotsu earned her J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law, where she was elected to the Order of the Coif and served as Managing Editor of the Berkeley Business Law Journal. She earned her A.B., with Honors, from the University of Chicago.
