Dr. Garreth McCrudden is a member of the Intellectual Property Group and focuses his work on patent prosecution and portfolio management for clients in the chemical and pharmaceutical fields.
Prior to joining the firm, Dr. McCrudden was a postdoctoral scholar in the Molecular Biophysics and Integrated Bioimaging Division of the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, where he led experiments generating quantum mechanically entangled photons to study light absorption during photosynthesis.
Dr. McCrudden earned his D.Phil. in physical and theoretical chemistry from the University of Oxford. His doctoral research focused on a combined experimental and theoretical study of the energy transfer processes that take place during individual non-reactive atom-molecule collisions. His research experience includes technical training in laser physics, ultra-high vacuum systems, and computational gas-phase reaction dynamics. During his doctoral studies, Dr. McCrudden also spent several months conducting theoretical research at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
Dr. McCrudden obtained his undergraduate master’s degree in chemistry from the University of Oxford, where he undertook research in the theoretical modeling of electronic quenching in atmospherically important systems.
Dr. McCrudden is fluent in Spanish.
