Gary Brown is a partner of Morrison & Foerster (International) LLP, based in the London office. His practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, private equity buyouts, joint ventures, and reorganizations. He has extensive experience advising on transactions involving financial institutions.

Mr. Brown regularly advises European and U.S.-based clients on some of their most complex transactions, including cross-border M&A mandates, private equity buyouts, and joint ventures.

Mr. Brown has particular expertise advising alternative asset managers on the M&A aspects of direct lending, including the acquisition and disposal of loan portfolios, and the structuring of lending joint ventures.

Prior to joining Morrison & Foerster in 2016, Mr. Brown practiced at an international law firm’s London office. During that appointment, he advised numerous financial services and investment firms in connection with their direct lending strategies, as well as a broad range of clients on cross-border M&A transactions, including deals in the pharmaceutical, technology, manufacturing, and consumer goods industries.

Mr. Brown received his LL.B. (Hons.) (First Class) from the University of Glasgow in 2005, and his Diploma in Legal Practice from the Glasgow Graduate School of Law in 2006. He is admitted to practice in England, Wales, and Scotland.
