I’m a good listener, a skill not taught at law schools but a talent we prize at MoFo. Listening enables understanding which leads to good deals, knock–out arguments, and clear objectives in the most efficient and cost–effective way.

Howard heads the Business Restructuring & Insolvency Group in the London office. He has more than 25 years’ experience in UK and international restructuring and insolvency work and has acted for banks, other secured and unsecured creditors, ad hoc committees, trade creditors, debtors, and acquirers of business and assets from insolvent companies.

Howard’s experience covers every type of UK restructuring and insolvency procedure and he is one of the few English lawyers with hands on experience with the U.S. Chapter 11 process. He’s worked around the world and was elected chief executive of Dentons for two terms. Howard has a number of roles in professional organizations, for example he co–chairs the Projects Committee of the International Insolvency Institute, is active in the Institute’s pro bono work, most particularly African–related projects, has articles regularly published, and has been closely involved in development of MoFo’s guidance for clients on Brexit.

Howard is an accredited Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution mediator, and he is particularly interested in mediating disputes arising out of restructurings and insolvency proceedings.
