Hywote Taye is an associate in the Technology Transactions Group in Morrison & Foerster’s San Francisco office.

Ms. Taye earned her J.D. from Harvard Law School magna cum laude. She was supervising editor for the Harvard Law Review, where she wrote on copyright and privacy issues. She also served as a production editor for the Harvard Journal of Law and Technology and participated in the Harvard Law Entrepreneurship Project, where she advised startups on corporate law matters.

Prior to joining the firm, she served as managing executive editor for the American Journal of Bioethics, a peer-reviewed academic journal that publishes on issues surrounding biotechnology, medical ethics, health law, and the philosophy of science. She also served as a research fellow for the Stanford Center for Biomedical Ethics, where she researched and produced publications on issues surrounding direct-to-consumer genetic testing, research ethics, and novel biotechnologies.

Ms. Taye received her B.A. in human biology and M.A. in philosophy, with concentrations in philosophy of science and philosophy of language, from Stanford University.
