James McCormick represents companies in commercial, corporate and technology transactions.
Mr. McCormick counsels clients at all stages of development, from emerging companies to well-established public companies, on a variety of commercial and technology transactions, including distribution, resale, marketing, outsourcing, sales representative, purchase and supply, and consulting and service transactions. His commercial contracts and technology practices include the structuring and negotiation of operating services agreements; software, content and other technology development, licensing and transfer agreements, product integration and distribution agreements; terms of service and software-as-a-service agreements; maintenance, support and hosting agreements; and electronic commerce transactions and privacy policies.
Mr. McCormick also represents companies at all stages of development in merger and acquisition transactions. He also works with early-stage companies in entity formation, venture capital transactions, and general corporate and securities matters.
While at Harvard, Mr. McCormick was an editor of the Harvard Journal of Law and Technology. He is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia and the District of Columbia.
