Jan is an associate at Morrison & Foerster’s German office in Berlin and specializes in Dispute Resolution. He primarily advises clients on complex national and international arbitration and litigation, and on alternative dispute resolutions. His particular focus is on corporate disputes in connection with managing directors’ liability as well as on post-merger & acquisition disputes. Jan also advises on data privacy disputes.

Jan brings special experience to the technology and aviation industries. In addition, he has been increasingly dedicating himself to dispute resolution in the aerospace industry.

Jan studied law at Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz and earned his doctorate there with a dissertation on the breach of arbitration agreements. Research stays took him to New York and Hamburg. At King’s College in London, he completed his master’s degree with an emphasis on international commercial and investment arbitration as well as on international finance.

During his time at King’s College, Jan was secretary to a tribunal in two investment treaty arbitrations. During his legal traineeship, he worked at Germany’s Federal Foreign Office in Berlin and at an international law firm in San Francisco.

Prior to joining Morrison & Foerster, Jan worked as an associate on the litigation and arbitration team of an international law firm.
