Jane Petersen Bentrott is an associate in the Litigation Department of Morrison & Foerster’s Los Angeles office. Ms. Bentrott’s practice focuses on defending clients in complex litigation, particularly class actions and antitrust litigation. In addition, she also has experience assisting clients in regulatory investigations by the Federal Trade Commission.
Ms. Bentrott has an active pro bono practice. Her experience includes representing clients in criminal, child custody, and landlord-tenant matters.
Prior to joining Morrison & Foerster, Ms. Bentrott served as the special assistant to the Assistant Secretary of State for Political-Military Affairs at the State Department. She also worked as a financial analyst at Fannie Mae, with experience in capital markets, multifamily housing, and corporate strategy.
Ms. Bentrott earned her J.D. from Columbia Law School, where she was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar and received recognition from the Parker School of Foreign and Comparative Law. She also served as managing editor of the Journal of Transnational Law. As a law student, she interned at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia in the Office of the Prosecutor. Ms. Bentrott earned her B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania, where she graduated magna cum laude with distinction in international relations.
Ms. Bentrott is a member of the American Bar Association's Sections of Antitrust and International Law. She is admitted to practice in Virginia and Washington D.C.
