Jeffrey Miles is a member of the firm’s Intellectual Property Group.

Mr. Miles focuses his practice on intellectual property litigation, including patent, trade secret, trademark, and copyright disputes.

Prior to joining Morrison & Foerster, Mr. Miles worked at another major law firm on a range of complex IP and civil litigation in state and federal courts. His cases included high profile art litigation and complex patent, trade secret, trademark and copyright matters involving emergent technology companies and startups on novel issues of law, products liability, breach of contract, and defamation. 

Mr. Miles previously clerked for the Honorable Judge Vanessa D. Gilmore in the Southern District of Texas, and served as an Attorney Advisor in the U.S. Department of Justice Honors Program.

Mr. Miles serves on the Executive Committee of the San Francisco Bar Association's Barrister's Intellectual Property Section and closely follows developments in the areas of art law, contemporary art, venture capital, fintech, and startups.

Mr. Miles earned his J.D. from UCLA School of Law. He received his B.A. in English Literature from New York University.

Mr. Miles is admitted to practice in California. He is fluent in Spanish.
