Joan Warrington has been recognized as a leading lawyer in the financial services industry for over three decades. Her practice focuses primarily on retail financial services, with a special emphasis on advising on and negotiating a wide range of transactions:

  • Joint venture and alliance agreements for co-branded and private label credit card agreements and card network incentive agreements.
  • A variety of industry relationships, including card issuing agreements with the card networks, outsourcing arrangements, processing agreements and merchant services agreements.
  • Portfolio purchase and sale transactions.
  • Emerging payment agreements, involving mobile wallets and alliances with on-line lenders.

Her clients include some of the largest U.S. retailers and financial institutions, as well as a foreign based card network, and she works closely with Morrison & Foerster’s financial services regulatory group and technology transactions group to provide practical advice on regulatory and technology matters that are critical to fashioning agreements in the complex consumer financial services space.
