John D Chapman is Patent Agent in the firm’s Palo Alto office. His practice focuses on patent drafting and prosecution and also covers pharmaceuticals, chemistry, and biotechnology matters.

Dr. Chapman received his Ph.D. in medicinal chemistry from the University of Washington, where his doctoral research concentrated on proteomics, mass spectrometry instrumentation and application, medicinal chemistry, biochemistry, pharmacology, biology and chemistry. He received a double B.S. in biochemistry and molecular biophysics, and in molecular and cellular biology from the University of Arizona.

Dr. Chapman’s experience includes research at the David R. Goodlett Laboratory developing skills in biochemical protocols, protein preparation and mass spectrometry instrumentation, and leading numerous collaborations for a diverse array of mass spectrometry projects. He was also an intern at Amgen and did undergraduate research at the Southwest Environmental Health Sciences Center
