Kara M. Kraman is an attorney in Morrison & Foerster’s State and Local Taxation (SALT) Group in New York City. Her practice focuses on the resolution of state and local tax controversies at the audit, administrative and judicial levels and primarily encompasses matters involving corporate income taxes, sales and use taxes, property taxes, utility taxes, and bank taxes.

Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Kraman practiced in the area of state and local taxation at another firm, specializing in private aviation transactions. Ms. Kraman also has several years of practice experience in the areas of corporate transactions and planning.  

Ms. Kraman is a co-author of the 2012 treatise State Business Income Taxation, and a contributing author of the treatise Tax Planning for Corporations and Shareholders. She is also the author of numerous articles on New York state and local tax issues and tax issues that affect aircraft owners.  

Ms. Kraman received her J.D. from William & Mary Law School and her LL.M. in Taxation from New York University Law School.  Ms. Kraman graduated from Georgetown University with a B.A. in Economics.
