Kyle Pietari is an associate in the Litigation Department where his practice focuses on intellectual property. He is a registered patent attorney admitted to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (PTO).

Kyle received his J.D. from Harvard Law School, where he was an editor of the Harvard Environmental Law Review and a board member of the Harvard Environmental Law Society. He spent law school winter terms in Japan writing a paper on patent litigation and in Ecuador writing a paper on constitutional environmental law, both of which were published in law journals. He also served as a summer law clerk with the U.S. Department of Justice: Environment and Natural Resources Division.

Kyle received his B.S. in earth science from Rice University. As an undergraduate, he served as a marine geology field research assistant in Antarctica with the U.S. Antarctic Program. Before law school, he worked as a grassroots organizer for several nonprofits, including Greenpeace USA for its climate change campaign.

Kyle is an elite ultramarathon runner who competes in 100-mile mountain trail races at a world-class level. He finished in 2nd place in both 2015 and 2016 at the Leadville Trail 100, the largest 100-mile race in North America.
