Libby Strichartz assists clients in confronting complex privacy and data security issues across a variety of contexts. She has experience in security and risk management counseling (with a particular focus on supply chain risk management), advising on privacy and cybersecurity issues in corporate transactions, and drafting policies and contract provisions that protect clients’ privacy and cybersecurity needs. Libby has cultivated a diverse practice that draws on her knowledge of state consumer-privacy legislation such as the VCDPA, the CPA, and the CPRA, as well as her litigation experience related to the Child Online Privacy Protection Act, state consumer fraud acts, and the Fourth Amendment.

Prior to joining Morrison & Foerster, Libby practiced internet strategy, commercial, and securities litigation at an Am Law 100 firm. Libby received her Juris Doctor from the University of Chicago Law School, and received her B.A., magna cum laude, in both History and Spanish from the University of Pennsylvania. During law school, she served as a judicial intern for the Hon. Alex Kozinski on the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and represented several indigent clients through her work at the Mental Health Advocacy Clinic.
