J. Luis Ramos is an associate in the Litigation Department of Morrison and Foerster’s San Diego office. Luis received his J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley, School of Law. While in law school, Luis interned at the Office of the Attorney General, California Department of Justice and was a clinical student at the East Bay Community Law Center. He also served as a judicial extern to Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers at the Northern District of California.

Prior to law school, Luis was a historian of Latin America and U.S.-Latin American relations. He earned his Ph.D. with honors and an M.A. in History from the University of Chicago, where he received recognitions such as a Fulbright Fellowship and was a Jefferson Scholar National Fellow at the University of Virginia. Luis received his B.A. cum laude in History from UCLA.
