Maggie Mayo is a senior associate in Morrison & Foerster's San Francisco office. Ms. Mayo’s practice focuses on commercial litigation, trademark counseling and litigation, and consumer class actions. She has experience representing and advising clients on a variety of matters, including unfair competition claims, contract disputes, tort claims, and claims under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA). Her clients include insurers, financial institutions, retailers, eyewear manufacturers, and start-ups.

She has managed related federal and state litigations, drafted and argued dispositive motions in federal and state courts across the country, taken and defended numerous depositions, lead discovery aspects of complex litigations, and been responsible for preparing and implementing case plans and strategies.

Ms. Mayo received her J.D. from U.C. Berkeley School of Law in 2008. During law school, she served as a judicial extern to the Honorable William H. Alsup of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. Ms. Mayo received her B.A. in Chemistry, magna cum laude, from Cornell University in 2005.

  • Represented start-up in class action in state court involving unfair competition and false advertising claims.

  • Represented insurer in contract and bad faith dispute, resulting in the insured agreeing to pay the insurer to settle the matter.

  • Represented insurer in federal action involving ERISA claims.

  • Represented retailer in federal class action involving Telephone Consumer Protection Act claims.

  • Represented eyewear manufacturer in state court class action involving unfair competition and fraud claims.
