Marta Godecki is an associate in the firm’s Intellectual Property Group. Her practice focuses on intellectual property matters and commercial litigation.
Ms. Godecki represents clients in patent, trademark, and copyright matters across a range of industries and technologies, including hardware, software, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and sports and recreation. She has helped clients with regulatory issues and intellectual property lifecycle management.
Ms. Godecki’s practice also includes advertising, corporate, and commercial litigation matters in areas such as consumer products, e-commerce, and telecommunications.
Ms. Godecki maintains an active pro bono practice. She has represented clients in constitutional and civil rights cases and has worked with clients on takings, immigration, and employment matters.
Ms. Godecki earned her J.D. from UCLA School of Law, where she was a senior editor of the UCLA Law Review. During law school, Ms. Godecki helped clients as a member the school’s Trial Advocacy Clinic, sat on the board of directors of the Public Interest Law Fund, and served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Michael H. Watson of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio.
Before law school, Ms. Godecki served as an intern to the Polish Constitutional Tribunal in Warsaw, Poland. She earned her B.Sc. from McGill University, where she was an editor of the McGill Science Undergraduate Research Journal.
Ms. Godecki is admitted to practice in New York and California, and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
