Dr. Max Banko applies his extensive knowledge in molecular genetics to advise biotechnology and pharmaceutical clients with patent prosecution and counseling matters related to antibody-based therapeutics.

Dr. Banko assists clients in drafting patent applications, prosecuting domestic and foreign applications, conducting freedom-to-operate assessments, and by assisting with the preparation of validity and infringement opinions. He has worked with a variety of clients, ranging from startups to global biotechnology companies.

Dr. Banko holds a J.D. from Stanford Law School. He received his Ph.D. in genetics from Stanford University, where his research focused on nutrient sensing pathways involved in lifespan regulation. He is the author of several scientific publications on signal transduction pathways and longevity. His research involved work in a number of disciplines, including genetics, molecular biology, and biotechnology. He holds a B.S., summa cum laude, from the University of Rochester in molecular genetics.

Dr. Banko is admitted to practice before the United States Patent & Trademark Office, and is a member of the California bar.
