Megan Smith is an associate in the firm’s Litigation Department and is based in the Washington, D.C. office. Megan’s practice focuses on matters originating from the Investigations + White Collar Defense and Global Antitrust Law practice groups.

Megan represents clients through criminal and internal investigations, administrative proceedings, and civil litigation. She defends companies and individuals in matters involving complex fraud, antitrust activity, and other violations of anti-corruption laws. Her clients span a range of industries, including healthcare, pharmaceuticals, consulting, and financial services.

Before joining the firm, Megan interned for the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor & Pensions and the House Committee on Oversight and Reform. She also interned in the Department of Justice’s Civil Rights division and completed the Urban Education Leaders Internship Program with District of Columbia Public Schools Office of the General Counsel.

Megan maintains a commitment to pro bono work, with a focus on wrongful convictions, education equity, and voting rights.

Megan earned her J.D., cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center, where she was a Legal Research and Writing Fellow, a Senior Writing Fellow, and administrative editor of the Georgetown Journal on Poverty Law and Policy.

Before attending law school, Megan was a middle school math teacher with Teach for America. She graduated from the University of Alabama, summa cum laude, with a B.S. in Economics and B.A. in Political Science.
