Melissa Perez is an associate in the Litigation Department of Morrison & Foerster’s San Francisco office and focuses her practice on intellectual property litigation and trademark prosecution and enforcement.
Melissa graduated from University of California Berkeley School of Law. There, she worked with the California Asylum and Refugee Clinic (CARC) where she assisted the East Bay Sanctuary Covenant with drafting asylum petitions for its clients. She was also a member of the La Raza Law Student Association, the Women of Color Collective, and the La Raza Law Journal. She was a Wetmore Fellow for Morrison & Foerster the summer after her first year of law school.
Before law school, Melissa was awarded the PBHA Postgraduate Fellowship by Harvard University to work at the Public Law Center in Santa Ana, CA. There, she drafted petitions for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, U Visas, U Visa Adjustments of Status, and Naturalization that were submitted to the United States Citizenship & Immigration Services.
Melissa received a B.A., in Studies of Women, Gender, and Sexuality from Harvard University.
