Michelle Sosa-Acosta is an associate in the Litigation Department of Morrison & Foerster’s San Francisco office.
Before joining Morrison & Foerster as an associate, Michelle served as an advocate for various organizations. Michelle was a certified legal intern for the Housing Litigation Clinic of the East Bay Community Law Center, where she represented low-income clients in landlord-tenant litigation. As a member of the Post-Conviction Advocacy Project, she worked closely with a client serving a life sentence in preparation for his successful parole hearing. Prior to law school, Michelle served as a Jails Project Legal Intern at the American Civil Liberties Union of Southern California.
Michelle received her J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law. While in law school, she was a co-submissions editor for the Berkeley La Raza Law Journal and the mentorship chair for First Generation Professionals. For her 1L summer, Michelle was selected as a Leadership Council on Legal Diversity scholar with an appellate litigation firm, which allowed her to participate in moot courts and observe Ninth Circuit oral arguments. Michelle also graduated magna cum laude from the University of Redlands, double-majoring in Public Policy and Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies.
