Morgan Donoian MacBride’s practice focuses on various aspects of complex litigation, including securities, IP, and entertainment litigation, as well as class actions and white-collar defense. Additionally, he maintains an active pro bono practice, having recently represented an individual in an asylum matter.

Mr. MacBride joined Morrison & Foerster after practicing as a litigation associate for years in the Los Angeles office of a renowned national law firm. Prior to this, he earned his J.D. cum laude from Northwestern University School of Law, where he served as a member of the editorial board for the Journal of Technology & Intellectual Property. He received his B.A. in Political Science magna cum laude through the honors program at the University of Southern California.

Mr. MacBride is committed to pro bono work and his dedication and advocacy earned him the Justice & Diversity Center of the Bar Association of San Francisco 2018 Outstanding Volunteer award and the California Lawyers Association Wiley W. Manuel Certificate for Pro Bono Legal Services in 2018.

  • Defending a publicly-traded online recruiting company in a class action alleging violations of the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
  • Defending one of the nation's largest banks in a class action alleging breach of contract and violations of the Truth-in-Lending Act.
  • Defended publicly-traded clothing retailer in a class action alleging violations of the Consumer Legal Remedies Act, Unfair Business Practices, Fraudulent Business Practices, and False Advertising.
  • Defended the officers and directors of a Fortune 500 company in a shareholder class action alleging violations of securities laws.
  • Represented a publicly traded footwear and apparel company in a trademark dispute before the International Trade Commission and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
  • Defended the former CEO of a publicly traded company in both a shareholder class action and an SEC investigation. 
  • Represented a Fortune 100 company in patent litigation involving recombinant DNA.
  • Defended a leading fund adviser against claims of excessive fees, challenging the alleged differential between advisory and sub-advisory fees.fraud
