Dr. An is a member of the Patent Group and focuses on patent prosecution, portfolio management, and patent diligence across a variety of technologies, including biotechnology and pharmaceuticals.

Dr. An received her J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School, where she also completed the Concentration on Intellectual Property and Technology Law. During law school, she served as the lead article editor for the Minnesota Journal of Law, Science and Technology and a student instructor for Legal Research & Writing. Dr. An was the recipient of the American Bar Association – Bloomberg BNA Award for Excellence in Intellectual Property Law and the Minnesota Intellectual Property Law Association Award in 2017.

Prior to law school, Dr. An conducted research on developing next-generation DNA sequencing technology and its applications in analyzing DNA modifications and telomeric G-quadruplexes on a single-molecule level. She received the Cheves T. Walling Graduate Research Award from Department of Chemistry, the University of Utah in 2012. Dr. An is the author of several U.S. patents and peer-reviewed scientific publications, and has presented her research at international conferences.

Dr. An is registered to practice before the USPTO and is fluent in Mandarin.
