Nazli Ghaboosi Rahim is a scientific analyst in the firm’s Palo Alto office. Her practice focuses on patent drafting and prosecution in the areas of life sciences, biotechnology, and pharmaceuticals. Her scientific expertise includes molecular biology, genetics, immunology, and cancer biology.

Dr. Rahim received her Ph.D. in genetics from the California Institute of Technology. Her research focused on the ubiquitin-proteasome pathway and the  molecular mechanisms targeting proteins to the 26S proteasome for proteolysis. Dr. Rahim did her postdoctoral research at the Scripps Research Institute, where she employed genomic technologies to determine the functional relevance of genetic variants underlying human disease. She later worked as a scientist in France at the Cancer Research Center of Lyon and the European Molecular Biology Laboratory. She was awarded the Marie Curie Incoming International Fellowship (IIF).

Prior to graduate school, Dr. Rahim was a research associate at Genentech, where she worked on the creation of genetically engineered animal models of the HER2 oncogene. She obtained her B.A. in biochemistry and molecular biology from the University of California, Berkeley.
