Patricia Butler is an associate in the firm’s Securities Litigation, Securities Enforcement, and Investigations + White Collar groups in the New York office.
Prior to joining Morrison Foerster, Patricia was a judicial law clerk for the Southern District of New York as well as an associate for an international law firm, where she worked on a team that successfully obtained a $79 million default judgment against a foreign party in a multi-million dollar fraud case. Her experience includes conducting and supervising discovery in complex federal cases and researching and drafting numerous filings, including complaints and motions to dismiss in fraud-related claims. Patricia has also participated in pro bono work providing legal representation to clients on criminal and immigration matters.
Patricia graduated magna cum laude from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where she was an E. Nathaniel Gates scholar, a New York City Bar Association law student ambassador, and a member of the Minority Law Students Alliance. During law school, Patricia interned for a Securities and Arbitration Clinic and served as a law clerk for the Honorable Lorna G. Schofield in the Southern District of New York.
