Peter Yim is head of the firm's Electronics, Software and Telecommunications Patent Group. His practice concentrates on domestic and international patent prosecution, intellectual property strategic planning and technology litigation support. In addition, he provides intellectual property support and analysis for clients involved in public offerings, financings, mergers and acquisitions and other related transactions. He is also frequently called upon to provide strategic IP counseling for start-ups.

Mr. Yim has written and prosecuted hundreds of patents in a wide range of technology areas, including computer software and hardware, computer network systems, debit and smart card systems, electronic commerce systems, medical devices, holography, semiconductor wafer processing and manufacturing systems, semiconductor chip and device manufacturing and packaging systems, voice-over-IP systems, vibration suppression systems and Wi-Fi systems.

Among Mr. Yim's current clients is DreamWorks Animation. He helps DreamWorks develop its IP portfolio for its cutting-edge digital animation tools. Mr. Yim and the team he leads serve as DreamWorks' sole outside patent counsel.

Mr. Yim also represents a number of Japanese companies, including Access Co., Ltd., Fujitsu and Tokyo Electron Limited.

Mr. Yim was named one of the Daily Journal's Top 25 IP Portfolio Managers in California from 2012–2015 and was also recommended by Legal 500 US 2014–2016 and was named a leading lawyer in 2015 and 2016.
