Dr. Rachel Rice applies her doctoral studies in biological sciences to focus her practice on patent prosecution and counseling in the areas of life sciences, biotechnology and pharmaceuticals. She has prior research experience in neurobiology and behavior, molecular biology and cancer biology.

Dr. Rice received her J.D., cum laude, from the University of California, Irvine, where she served as president of the Student Bar Association and vice president of the Intellectual Property and Cyberlaw Society. During law school, she participated in UCI Law’s Intellectual Property, Arts, and Technology Clinic and Startup and Small Business Clinic, as well as various pro bono matters.

She received her Ph.D. in biological sciences from the University of California, Irvine, where she was awarded a National Research Service Award by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to investigate the roles that immune cells play in learning and memory. Dr. Rice received her B.A. in neuroscience from the University of Southern California.

She is licensed to practice in California.
