Richard (Lijian) Ji is an associate in the Beijing office of Morrison & Foerster LLP. Richard focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, and venture capital investments.

Prior to joining Morrison & Foerster, Richard was an associate in the Beijing office of a leading PRC law firm.

He is fluent in Mandarin and English.

Representative Experience

  • Advised Ascendent Capital Partners on its disposal of Etern Group Ltd., which indirectly holds 98% of the equity interest in a general hospital in Suzhou, to Hygeia, a Hong Kong listed healthcare company, for a total consideration of RMB1,734,600,000 (approximately US$267 million).
  • Advised a U.S. company, whose principal business is selling gases and chemicals for industrial uses, on its strategic investment in a PRC state-owned company in coal chemical industry.
  • Advised a PRC state-controlled hi-tech company on its acquisition of a majority stake of a Luxemburg sensor manufacturing company.
  • Advised a leading Chinese internet security company on its strategic investment in a Chinese mobile phone manufacturer, as well as its acquisition of a majority stake of a Chinese internet financial assets trading center.
  • Advised a Shanghai Stock Exchange listing company on its acquisition of a majority stake of an Australian gold explorer, developer, and producer.
