rbaehr@mofo.com | (212) 336-4339 rbaehr@mofo.comRob Baehr’s practice focuses on complex litigation, with an emphasis on class action defense, government-facing investigations, and regulatory enforcement.
Rob has extensive experience representing financial institutions, consumer-products companies, and Fortune 500 firms in class actions and complex commercial disputes. He has recently been named to Best Lawyers 2022 in the “Ones to Watch” category for Criminal Defense: White-Collar.
Rob maintains an active pro bono practice with a particular focus on indigent criminal defense and civil rights work. He has partnered with the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law and the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) to bring class action litigation challenging the modern “debtors’ prison” problem—stopping municipalities from unconstitutionally jailing defendants solely because they are too poor to pay municipal fines and fees. Rob also has represented indigent criminal defendants through the Criminal Justice Act Panel for the Southern District of New York, and has won asylum cases in Immigration Court.
