Robert Sandoval is an associate in Morrison & Foerster’s Litigation Department in the San Francisco office.
Prior to joining Morrison & Foerster, Robert served as a law clerk for Judge Richard Seeborg and Judge William H. Orrick of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.
Robert began his career as a Deputy Attorney General in the Civil Division of the California Department of Justice, where he successfully defended state agencies and individuals in both state and federal court. Robert was also honored with a 2017 California Attorney General’s Team Award for his work on the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) Litigation Team.
Robert earned his B.A. cum laude from Occidental College in Politics and Economics, and his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School. During law school, Robert served as the Executive Comments Editor of The University of Chicago Law School Legal Forum, won best team and best brief in the national 2015 Saul Lefkowitz Moot Court competition, and worked as a research assistant to Professor Eric A. Posner and Professor M. Todd Henderson.
Robert has also held internships in the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Central District of California in Los Angeles, and in the Trial Group of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington D.C., as well as served as a judicial extern to Judge David B. Atkins of the Illinois Circuit Court of Cook County. He is currently the Vice President of Membership for the San Francisco La Raza Lawyers Association and was on the Editorial Board of the American Bar Association’s TYL Magazine.
