Robert L. Cortez Webb is an associate in Morrison & Foerster’s Securities Litigation, Enforcement, and White-Collar Criminal Defense Group. He represents public companies and their directors and officers in securities fraud class actions, derivative litigation, and internal investigations.
Robert defends clients in connection with shareholder lawsuits in federal and state court that allege violations of federal securities laws, breach of fiduciary duty, and insider trading. Robert also conducts corporate internal investigations involving accounting and disclosure issues, federal securities laws, and anti-corruption laws. Robert has represented corporate and individual clients in a broad range of industries, including software, solar energy, biofuels, consumer products, transportation, financial services, and logistics. Robert also maintains an active pro bono practice, representing individuals and organizations in civil rights cases in California and federal courts and representing low-income tenants in housing disputes.
Robert received his J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, with a concentration in civil litigation. While attending law school, Robert served as a senior articles editor for the Hastings Race and Poverty Law Journal.
