Roberto K. Rodriguez, Ph.D. is a patent agent in the Intellectual Property group of Morrison & Foerster’s San Francisco office. His practice focuses on antibody therapeutics, immunology, cancer therapeutics, stem cell technology, molecular biology, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, life sciences, plant varieties, agricultural biotechnology, and clean tech  Dr. Rodriguez has experience in U.S. and foreign patent drafting and prosecution, patent portfolio analyses and management, IP landscape reviews, patent due diligence, and freedom-to-operate analyses   Dr. Rodriguez works closely with emerging and late-stage companies, as well as universities.  Representative clients for whom Dr. Rodriguez has performed patent work for include Novartis, Genentech, Energy Biosciences Institute, University of California, Berkeley, University of California, Davis, Enza Zaden, Dole Fresh Foods, Progeny Advanced Genetics, Inc., California Table Grape Commission, and H.J. Heinz Company.

Dr. Rodriguez received his Ph.D. from the Department of Biology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where his research focused on the molecular biology of adult stem cells and cancer-associated angiogenesis.  In his former scientific career, Dr. Rodriguez gained extensive experience in cancer biology, stem cell biology, molecular biology, cell biology, cell signaling pathways, genetics, biochemistry, and transgenic technologies.
