Roland advises on national and international corporate matters. He has more than 35 years of experience in the areas of regulatory compliance, internal investigations, and corporate governance law. His practice focuses on board counseling as well as on German and U.S. compliance requirements, such as matters involving the FCPA, and on corporate litigation matters. He also advises clients on a range of cross-border government enforcement and other compliance and corporate matters, the structuring of compliance programs, follow-on litigation, and D&O insurance coverage.

Roland is an honorary professor at Konstanz University for Technology, Economics and Design, and a member of the Konstanz Institute of Corporate Governance. He is a member of the Examination Board for Chartered Accountants.

He is a member of our Corporate, Compliance, and Investigations Group. In addition, Roland is a notary with official residence in Berlin.

  • Providing advice to Landesbank Hessen-Thüringen on dividend arbitrage activities
  • Assisting Bilfinger SE with an internal investigation into bribery allegations

  • Advising MAN SE on an internal investigation into bribery allegations
  • Advising Hamburg Commercial Bank AG (previously HSH Nordbank AG) in connection with an internal investigation concerning the dismissal of a former manager
  • Representing TUI AG in corporate and capital market law matters
  • Advising UK and U.S. companies on real estate transactions in Germany
  • Advising a U.S. public company on German corruption issues
  • Advising  EnBW AG on the purchase of a strategic participation in EWE
  • Advising EnBW AG on the acquisition of the gas supplier VNG as part of an exchange of shares with EWE AG
  • Advising several banks in connection with an allegation of cum-ex transactions
