Ruchika Verma is a member of the firm’s patent group and focuses her practice on patent counseling, prosecution and IP due diligence. Her experience spans a wide range of technology, encompassing hardware, firmware and software development.
Before joining the firm, Ms. Verma worked as an extern in the patent pilot program for the Central District of California, where she drafted memorandums for claim construction, motions to dismiss, and summary judgement motions.
Prior to law school, Ms. Verma worked as a firmware engineer developing remote asset and personnel tracking devices. Ms. Verma has experience working in a variety of technology areas, including video compression, reconfigurable architectures, parallel hardware architectures, embedded systems, software development, and software user interfaces.
Ms. Verma received her J.D. from University of California School of Law, Los Angeles, where she was an executive articles editor of the UCLA Journal of Law and Technology (JOLT) and a member of the Business Law Student-Faculty Committee. Ms. Verma received her M.S. in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Arizona, Tucson, and her bachelor of technology in electronics and communications engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra, India, where she graduated with honors.
Ms. Verma is admitted to practice in California and before the USPTO. She is fluent in Hindi.
