Ryan Gatzemeyer is an associate in the Litigation Group of Morrison & Foerster’s San Francisco office. His practice focuses on intellectual property litigation.
Ryan is admitted to practice in California and is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He received his J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall), and his B.S. in mechanical engineering cum laude from Iowa State University.
While earning his J.D., Ryan externed for The Honorable Susan Illston of the Northern District of California and served as an Associate Editor on the Berkeley Technology Law Journal. He was awarded a Boalt Hall Dean’s Fellowship and received a Prosser Award for academic achievement. Ryan was also a summer associate at Morrison & Foerster in the two-summer IP Litigation Program.
Before law school, Ryan was a patent examiner at the United States Patent and Trademark Office, where he examined patent applications relating to fluid control technologies in the semiconductor manufacturing, medical device, automotive, and oil and gas industries. His prior engineering-related experience includes working as a technical marketing consultant in the area of advanced machine guidance and automation and as a mechanical design and analysis engineer responsible for resolving product quality issues.
