Scott Sawyer specializes in transactions involving technology and intellectual property, providing assistance to companies of all sizes and in a variety of industries.

Mr. Sawyer’s practice includes a wide range of technology transactions, including license, development, consultancy, data sharing, and cloud services agreements. He also advises clients on intellectual property issues in connection with mergers and acquisitions and asset purchase agreements, and guides clients on legal issues arising in the rapidly evolving areas of social media and the Internet of Things. Before joining Morrison & Foerster, Mr. Sawyer was a member of the financial industry group at a global law firm.

Mr. Sawyer received his J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, where he was selected to deliver the student commencement address and was a National Appellate Advocacy Regional Finalist. Prior to law school, he earned an M.P.H. from Columbia University and received a philosophy and advertising from Boston University.

Mr. Sawyer is admitted to practice law in California.
