Sebastian Segmiller is an associate at Morrison & Foerster’s German office in Berlin. As a member of our Regulatory team he advises German and international clients particularly in the areas of technology, media and telecommunication on matters of public commercial law.
His practice focuses on foreign trade law, government contracts and public procurement law, antitrust law and state aid law. He also has expertise in the field of digital infrastructures, where he advises on contract law and regulatory matters. Furthermore, Sebastian represents clients in litigation proceedings and provides advice on compliance issues and internal investigations.
Sebastian studied law at Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich and at Université Panthéon-Assas in Paris, from where he received a Master’s degree (Maîtrise en droit). Following his legal clerkship at the Appellate Court of Berlin he wrote his Ph.D. thesis at the University of Potsdam.
Before joining Morrison & Foerster, he worked for a law firm specializing in information technology law during his studies and his legal clerkship. As a clerk he was employed at a leading German technology company in the field of rail automation and at the Federal Foreign Office in Germany and in the United States. As a research fellow at the University of Potsdam he taught courses in administrative and public commercial law.
