Sherry brings 25 years of experience to our China corporate practice, including corporate structuring, mergers and acquisitions, and private equity matters. She has advised both multinational and Chinese clients in cross-border transactions involving a broad range of industries, such as telecommunications, energy, retail, life sciences, and logistics. Sherry also represents Chinese clients in their outbound investment and M&A transactions, and assists multinational clients with anti-monopoly filings in China. Some of her clients include:

Kirin Holdings' Beverage Joint Venture with China Resources Enterprise
Advising Kirin Holdings, a leading Japanese company in the global food and beverage market, in its US$400 million strategic joint venture with China Resources Enterprise, a Hong Kong-based consumer goods company operating in the retail, beer, food and beverage markets throughout China. (2011)

Rakuten's Joint Venture with Baidu, Inc.
Advised Rakuten with respect to its joint venture with Baidu, Inc., the leading Chinese language Internet service provider, to build a online shopping mall for Chinese Internet users. (2010)

Chinese Listco in US Strategic Investment
A cross-office team of attorneys represented China's largest auto-mobile trading company group, Tangshan Jidong Products & Materials Trading Group, in an equity investment in and long-term iron ore offtake agreement with CML Holdings, Inc., a Utah-based iron mine operator. CML is using the investment proceeds to build an advanced concentrated ore processing facility. The transaction team was led by Sherry Yin and Chuck Comey, and included Palo Alto partner Bill Choe, Beijing associate Calvin Jin, Palo Alto associates Andrea Grieco, Tom Anderson and Patrick Fischer, with invaluable specialist assistance from Larry Engel and Vince Novak (bankruptcy), Christian Petersen (offtake arrangements) and Miles Imwalle and Geoff Pittman (environmental).
