Shusaku Iwasaki is an associate of Ito & Mitomi. Mr. Iwasaki represents a wide variety of domestic and foreign corporations in general corporate, commercial, and cross-border matters, particularly in the areas of M&A, joint ventures, security transactions and corporate governance.

One of Mr. Iwasaki’s areas of expertise includes advising clients in the life sciences industry. In particular, Mr. Iwasaki’s prior experience working as legal counsel at a leading pharmaceutical company enables him to provide practical advice on pharmaceutical-related legal issues, including M&A/co-promotion/co-marketing and other alliances, divestment of drugs, drug advertisement regulations, distribution antitrust issues, personal information regulations and digitalization of drugs.

Mr. Iwasaki graduated from Cornell University in 2000 with a B.S. in policy analysis and management. He also received an LL.B. from the University of Tokyo Faculty of Law in 2004 and completed his training at the Legal Training and Research Institute of the Supreme Court of Japan in September of 2007 (60th trainee). He received his LL.M. from Stanford Law School in 2012. Mr. Iwasaki is a bengoshi admitted to practice in Japan and California and is a member of the Daini Tokyo Bar Association. Mr. Iwasaki passed the US CPA Exam (State: California) in 2014.
