Sophie H. Cash provides counsel to and represents clients undergoing both government and internal investigations, including those relating to the False Claims Act (FCA) and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA).
Ms. Cash has extensive experience conducting internal investigations and defending clients in front of government agencies, including the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). She has also worked with individual clients to resolve potential criminal charges. In addition to her investigations practice, she defends clients in complex civil litigation.
Ms. Cash received her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law, where she served on the editorial board of the Virginia Law & Business Review. She also served as president of the First Year Council and secretary of the Student Bar Association. While in law school, she worked as a student attorney for the Charlottesville/Albemarle County Public Defender’s Office and previously as an intern for Senior Judge William Nickerson in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland. She received her B.A. summa cum laude from Washington College in business and economics with departmental honors.
