Dr. Stephanie Blij is an associate in the firm’s Intellectual Property Group and her practice focuses on intellectual property litigation with an emphasis on life sciences. She brings a Ph.D. in biology and experience as a patent prosecutor to inform IP litigation strategies.
Dr. Blij earned her J.D. magna cum laude from the University of California Hastings College of the Law where she also participated in the UC Hastings Startup Legal Garage by performing freedom to operate patent analyses for biotechnology startups. Dr. Blij also has experience in patent prosecution and counseling, patent due diligence, and freedom to operate analyses.
She earned her Ph.D. in molecular, cell, and developmental biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz, where she focused her research on mammalian embryo development and the molecular regulation of embryonic stem cell identity and differentiation. Dr. Blij obtained her B.S. in biology from the University of Oregon where she conducted research on the functions and interactions of genes implicated in Usher syndrome.
