Dr. Tamara Escajadillo focuses her work on patent prosecution and counseling in the areas of pharmaceuticals and biotechnology. She has prior research experience working in immunology, microbiology, molecular biology, genetics, and nano-engineering.
Dr. Escajadillo received her Ph.D. in biomedical science from the University of California, San Diego, where she focused her studies on pharmacological targeting of pore-forming toxins as adjunctive therapy for invasive bacterial infections.
During her graduate work, Dr. Escajadillo used biomimetic nanoparticles as decoys for bacterial toxins and inflammatory cytokines. She also applied CRISPR technology to elucidate pathways involved in host cell resistance to bacterial toxins. Dr. Escajadillo was also a recipient of the highly competitive PhRMA Foundation pre-doctoral fellowship in pharmacology/toxicology.
Dr. Escajadillo earned her B.S., summa cum laude, in biochemistry, from California State University, Dominguez Hills.
She is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and is fluent in Spanish.Show More
