Teresa MacLean is an associate in the Litigation Department in Morrison & Foerster’s Palo Alto office. Her practice focuses on the litigation of intellectual property disputes, including patent infringement and trade secret misappropriation.

Teresa has litigated patent and trade secret cases involving a range of technologies including biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and biologic drug products, communications, and other high-technology industries.  Teresa has also represented life sciences and technology companies in complex commercial matters and licensing disputes.  Teresa is also committed to pro bono work, and has recently helped a pro bono client clear her criminal record.

Prior to joining the firm, Teresa was an attorney in Toronto, where she provided litigation services and life sciences patent services and counseling, including domestic and international patent preparation and prosecution. She also has experience with trademark prosecution and has advised clients on regulatory compliance.

Teresa earned her J.D. at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Law; her M.S. in molecular genetics from the University of Toronto, Faculty of Medicine where she focused her research on angiogenesis regulation during mammalian development; and her B.S. in biochemistry and biotechnology from the University of Waterloo, Faculty of Science, in Waterloo.

Teresa is admitted to practice law in California and Ontario, Canada.
