William Foster is an associate in the Litigation Department of Morrison & Foerster’s San Francisco office.

Mr. Foster attended the University of California, Davis, School of Law on a Dean’s Merit Scholarship and graduated valedictorian, Order of The Barristers, and Order of The Coif. Mr. Foster was a National Finalist in the 2016-17 Saul Leftkowitz Moot Court Competition, where he finished second place overall and won the Dolores K. Hanna Best Brief Award. He was also a finalist in the Neumiller Moot Court Competition, and a finalist for the CEB Award for Excellence in Legal Research and Writing.

During law school, Mr. Foster served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Susan Y. Illston in the Northern District of California and worked as a research assistant with a focus on state tax law and education policy. He was a member of the Moot Court Honors Board and the King Hall Negotiations Team, and served as an Articles Editor for the UC Davis Law Review, a Senior Articles Editor for the Environs: Environmental Law and Policy Journal, and a 3L representative for the Recruitment, Retention, and Outreach Committee.
