Dr. Yuhe Liu is a member of the Intellectual Property Group of the firm’s San Francisco office. Dr. Liu has academic and industry research experience in molecular and cellular biology, genetics and genomics, biotechnology, and plant breeding.

Prior to joining the firm, Dr. Liu was a genetics scientist for Hi Fidelity Genetics, where he led the effort of implementing data science techniques, to accelerate plant variety development. Dr. Liu also worked as senior molecular biologist for Dow AgroSciences, where he managed projects for molecular characterization of transgenic plants in corn and soybeans.

Dr. Liu earned his Ph.D. in crop sciences and his M.S. in statistics from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. As a Monsanto graduate fellow, he focused his research on the discovery and characterization of genes regulating nitrogen utilization in maize. He received his B.S. in agronomy from China Agricultural University.

Dr. Liu is a native speaker of Mandarin Chinese.
